Saturday 4/6 Group: I had so much fun creating my story. The tool is simple and engaging, what more do you want? I called my grandson when I got home and we are looking forward to narrating a story together. I love it! Thank you for the information on such a powerful tool ;)

I created a twitter account and I think it is going to be a very fun social network. I plan to keep this account for classroom use so the trends I follow are educational and mathematical. I was so excited because on Pi-day I showed a prezi that was created by a math student here at NMSU. She shared the prezi so I used it on Pi-day. The kids loved it and I found so much more info on twitter trends that paralleled the prezi info.

You guys gave a great presentation. I especially became more interested in trying Twitter. I do not like to write and short, sweet to the point messages would work for me. Thank you. One way I could use social networks in my math classes would be for discussing problem solving in a "get to the point" forum via Twitter. Students could also use Twitter as a research and/or communication tool to follow trends and network. More importantly, I feel Twitter is an age appropriate tool for my 7th and 8th grade students. A way I could introduce Twitter at the beginning of the year would be to post something like a math riddle, logic problem or brain teaser so as to provoke a short explanation finding a solution. I would like to be able to give those types of problems for homework so as to prepare them for the next days objective(s). I would also allow students to use their cell phones to access Twitter while in my class.
